Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSO)

Represented by Ms. Delia C. Legaspino, PSHS-SMC Director and Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, UseP President, the two agencies formalized partnership on the ITSO, Research, Extension and Consultancy Programs and Services through a MOA signing held last February 23, 2016 in Davao City.

The memorandum of agreement stipulates that the PSHS-SMC will affiliate with the USeP-ITSO in achieving the following objectives of the partnership which include preparing the PSHS-SMC to be ready for membership to the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), helping it to produce innovative and inventive outputs which are relevant, useful and has impact to the environment and society, and aiding the science high school to patent some outputs of students through the assistance of the UseP-ITSO.

This partnership will also endeavor to support the Intellectual Property creation by facilitating access to global science and technology information by providing a patent search facility and library for the patent information, providing skills training in patent searching, rendering patent search services, and organizing an in-house community of patent information users. Furthermore, the partnership aims to promote domestic and globally competitive innovations by the members of the community through providing training on basic patent drafting and prosecution.
